Skyland Studios is located near Lakeville, Minnesota and is owned

by producer/engineer and singer, Darren Rust.  For nearly

2 decades, Darren has been producing and engineering records for

such groups as Go Fish, The Blenders, The Sounds of Blackness,

Donny Osmond, Naturally Seven, David Martin,to name a few.

Though his work may span many genres, vocal production and mixing

are his true specialties.  Most of Darren’s studio experience was developed in the years recording and producing his group, The Blenders.

The Blenders, a pop vocal band hailing from the Twin Cites, has released 12 albums to date, and have toured the U.S. since their start in late 1990. Their vocal style and arrangements are known worldwide, and they continue to excite fans on stage with their signature vocal sound.  As the musical director and arranger of the band, Darren’s work has earned him a reputation as one of America’s top vocal producers.

Along with his experience in vocal production, Darren has established a reputation as an accomplished mix engineer. He’s mixed for such artists as The Sounds of Blackness, Donny Osmond, and Ginger Millermon, bringing a musicians touch to every mix.  As an accomplished Pro Tools expert, Darren has pushed the standard of the “in-the-box mix”  to new heights, using new technology and old-school techniques.
